Frequently Asked QuestionsAbout the church:What kind of a church are you?We are an independent church. We are not part of a denomination. We have benefitted greatly from both the Willow Creek Church and Saddleback Church models in formulating our ministry strategies. We are a Willow Creek Association member church. What are your services like?Atmosphere: Genuine (just be who you are), relaxed (grab a cup of coffee), expectant (God is present) Will I have to say anything, sign anything, or be singled out?No. Do I need to bring a Bible? It is most helpful, but you won’t feel out of place if you don’t. You’ll find several opportunities to follow along in your Bible during the sermon. There are extra Bibles available under the seats in front of you. About small groups:Why should I join a small group? At Grace Fellowship we believe that every human being was created for community, so we promote the value of life-giving relationships. Also as our church grows larger no one will be able to know everyone, but everyone must know someone. How do I join a small group? The easiest way is to check that you are interested in joining a small group on the Connection Cards. We will also have at least two times (Fall and Spring) per year when we do whole church studies. This will be a time when we are especially creating opportunities to start out with a new group. What happens at small group meetings? This can vary from group to group but generally meetings include a time to get to know each other, a study of a biblical topic or book, a time of prayer, and refreshments. What will I miss if I don’t join a small group? You will miss the community values of knowing and being known, loving and being loved, serving and being served, and celebrating and being celebrated. Also, at Grace Fellowship, small groups are the place where your primary needs for care and support are addressed. About stuff for kids:What do you do for kids? The Mission statement at Grace Fellowship (We exist to fully connect people to God, His church, and His world.) is our mission for kids as well as adult. Children and students need opportunities to fully connect with God through times of worship. Children and students need times to fully connect with the church through life- affirming small group experiences. Children and students need opportunities to change the world through serving. Everything we do for kids has these 3 goals in mind. We also strive to work in such a way that we partner with parents NOT replace parents. What does that mean? The family is God’s plan for the passing on the legacy of faith from one generation to the next. Parents have the privilege and opportunity to model and guide their children daily in matters of faith. We work to equip parents to do this by teaching, training, and supporting parents in this eternally important role. Our goal is to be the parent’s #1 support system in their efforts to love their kids to the Lord. |
